$10 per person or $5 with 2 cans of food donation. Registration is from 10 am to Noon at Biker Bob’s.

This is a Poker Run starting at Biker Bob’s and last bike in by 3 pm at Champions Sports Bar & Grill in Brownstown.

The event is not just for riding, so if the weather is bad or just too cold to ride your bike, then get in your cage and come out and enjoy the day. Each stop on the run will have something unique to do, plus you can enjoy the camaraderie with other friends, members and riders. Remember this is usually the last event of the year, so we hope you join us to show support for the Road Captains and don’t forget to bring some canned goods with you!

**THIS EVENT QUALIFIES FOR VOLUNTEER POINTS.

History of the Polar Bear Run:

The Polar Bear Run is an event put on by the Road Captains with the proceeds going to the Road Captain Support Fund.

It was started years ago when it became apparent that extended training would be needed to keep the rides safer, along with specific safety equipment. It was decided that the individual cost per person would exceed any one person’s expected donation. So having a dedicated run to assist in the cost for the group would lesson the burden on the individual or the chapter. The funds raised from this event go toward training, safety classes, along with funds for radio equipment, headsets, mounts, safety vest, flags, etc. Many people may not know that all Motown Road Captains are required to take training and be certified in the following areas: CPR, Medical Assistance, Accident Scene Management, Advanced Rider Training. We do this to make sure that we provide the safest possible riding experience for participants on all rides.

Since the Polar Bear Run is held at the end of the year and around the Holidays, we also take a collection of canned goods during the event to support a local food kitchen. See the flyer below for details about the event…
